Next came several coats or gloss and matte hammered metal then several coats of forest green and a few coats of flat black for Pistol grip/stock area. Next came mixing sterling silver and metallic silver dry brushing to give it that dropped , beat up , dragged overall OLD look.
After painting was done I looked over where some paint had gotten under the painters tape and it gave the rifle a even more aged look. The final top coats have a rippling effect created to look like there is rust under the paint that is trying to bubble up. I really am glad that Spartan-06 is happy with this commission It was a LOT of fun to do.
